4th Oceanography Mural and completed Fish

Students finally finished their paper mache fish and started painting their mural of the same fish that they have become an expert on throughout the year.  Turned out pretty good, I think :)

4th Grade Visits Coosa River 4H Camp

For 3 exciting days our 4th graders experienced Coosa adventures. We were able to canoe, rock climb, learn GPS mapping skills, and even dissect fish!!  Here's a few pictures of our trip:

Cafeteria Time :)  Everyday we collected our food waste from our meal and weighed it.  We learned about how important it is to not waste food and only take what you will eat.  On day one we had 6 lbs. pounds of waste, but by the last meal we were down to a half a pound.  Great lesson!

The students learned about and were able touch different kinds of animals, such as turtles, snakes, and lizards. Oh MY!

Students learn how to bait, and be patient (which is a hard skill for some :)

A fish was caught!   The staff kept it and fed it to the eagle that they had on sight :)

We learned a ton, had some fun, and got to try new things....It was hard to get the students to leave!  They will remember this trip forever!
