D.C. Monuments and Memorial Studies

Each 5th grader became an expert on a D.C. Monument or Memorial and they became the teacher and taught the class.  Pictured below is a quilt that the students drew and pieced together to show what they have studied.

Owl Pellets...What's inside?

Fourth graders discover what is inside an owl pellet.  They are excited to find ribs, teeth, and even skulls.  Some even try to piece their findings together.

Presidential Projects

5th graders had a choice of the president they would like to study and learn about. They also had choices of how they wanted to learn about their chosen president.  They could choose to make a game, paint a portrait, create a crossword, do a PowerPoint, a brochure, or create trading cards... among many other things.

5th grade: American Village

Last Field Trip of the Year for 5th graders :(
We traveled to Montevallo to visit the American Village.  We felt as if we traveled back into the 1700's.  We met George Washington's granddaughter, learned dance steps for a ball, became part of a infantry line, and even saw an exact replica of the oval office.
